Dear MMA Members,

 

May I take this opportunity to announce the MMA Onam Celebrations for the year 2006 is on 9th September 2006, Saturday at Gandhi Hall ,Withinton at 1pm. The Public meeting will be inaugurated by Mr.John Leech MP (Withington MP in House of Commons) at 7pm.

The programme as follows

1. Onapookkalam                         - 13.30pm

2. Tug of war                    - 14.00pm (Men)

3. Arm Rustling                   - 15.00pm (Men)

4. Sweet Picking                  - 16.00pm (Kids below 10 years)

5. Smiling Competition          - 16.15pm (Kids below 6Years)

6. Musical Chair                  - 16.45pm (Children below 15 Years)

7.    “                               - 17.15pm (Ladies)

8. Lemon Spoon Race                   - 17.45pm (“   )

9. Vanchippattu                  - 18.00pm (Group Song in Kerala Traditional Dress)

10. Cinematic Dance            - 18.30pm (Non Competition)

 

Public Meeting                     - 19.00 PM

Traditional Onam Feast      - 20.00 PM

 

Expected Financial commitment to conduct various programme and events in the year 2006-’07 is approximately £3,500.00  

Balance Carry forward     (2005-’06)                                         -   £127.00

Expected Annual Subscription (2006-’07)                               - £2050.00

Annual Subscription Due   (2005-’06)                                       - £1170.00

 

So we kindly request all the MMA Members to pay this years annual subscription and settle the dues if any for the year 2005-’06. The payment shall be made by cash or by cheque favoring Manchester Malayalee Association’ to the Exe. Members  The Executive Committee has decided to limit the last date for clearing the dues by 30^th September 2006. Non payment of dues will attract the implementation of constitutional norms.  

The members wishing to take part in the competitions requested to contact Mr. Renji VV at 0161 795 2399 or 07961572793. Only the MMA members are eligible to take part in the competitions. There will be a nominal registration fee for Tug of War, Arm Rustling, Playing Cards and Shuttle badminton.  The members wishing to participate Shuttle Badminton and Playing Cards Requested to contact Mr. Robin Thomas at 0161 442 7554 or 07703003725 on or before 24th August ’06. Shuttle Badminton will be conducted on 26^th August 9.30 onwards at Belle View Leisure Center.

MMA would welcome Guest and Friends of our esteemed members for the Onam celebrations at a nominal guest fee of £5 per person.
